Welcome
Hi, and welcome to the Eagle Rock weather blog. It is on this blog that I will write about the weather--and sometimes lack thereof--for that small section in northeast Los Angeles known as Eagle Rock.
My impetus for writing about weather in Los Angeles occurred on President's Day 2005 when a severe thunderstorm came through the area. Sure, there was no tornado, but the winds, pounding hail, and greenish tint in the sky made me quite aware that mother nature can present her fury even in those places where it doesn't seem likely.
So, I follow weather with the hope of being able to catch that unusual storm or phenomenon whenever it occurs. I am not qualified to predict weather, although sometimes I try. I do pay close attention to those that do and then compare what they say to what actually happens. Nonetheless, I am very much intrigued by the science and the tools used in the process.
